Staff Real-Time Media Backend Engineer — Low-Latency

Responsibilities Develop and maintain media-related backend services for real-time communication (audio, video, screen sharing). Implement efficient media routing, session management, and signaling services. Optimize performance with adaptive bitrate, congestion control, and low-latency streaming. Collaborate with the control plane and client teams for seamless integration. Monitor and improve media service scalability, resilience, and observability. Requirements Proficiency in C++ and/or Go . Strong understanding of real-time streaming protocols and WebRTC fundamentals (ICE, DTLS, RTP, SRTP). Experience in building low-latency distributed systems or communication backends. Familiarity with Kubernetes , monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana), and cloud environments . Good communication skills and attention to performance optimization details. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $160,000-$200,000.
