PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) | Battle Creek, Michigan

This is a contract opportunity for experienced nurses with a strong oncology background to excel on a progressive unit. Night shifts: 3x12-hour (19:00 07:30)

Every other weekend required

Block scheduling requests consideredplease specify with your application

Weekends assigned by manager; other days managed through self-scheduling

Must be available the first two weeks of the assignment

Active Michigan RN license

BLS certification (AHA)

ONCC or ONS certification (must be in hand; ONS pending will be considered)

Minimum 2 years of PCU/Stepdown nursing experience

Proficiency in administering IV chemotherapy and starting IVs

Experience with EPIC charting

Familiarity with Welch Allyn Vital sign towers and Sigma IV pumps

Deliver comprehensive nursing care for stepdown and oncology patients

Safely administer chemotherapy and monitor patient responses

Manage patients at a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:46, with additional support staff as needed

Float as needed to other med surg areas, including AU and ER, caring for med surg patients

Maintain rigorous documentation and adhere to facility protocols

Adapt to evolving patient assignments, with decreased ratios for chemotherapy admissions

Collaborative and skilled clinical team

Charge RN typically not in patient assignments

Flexible self-scheduling options
