Job Description
This role focuses on maintaining and operating high-speed manufacturing equipment to support a fast-paced production environment. You will use your mechanical and technical skills to set up machines, perform repairs, and conduct both preventive and reactive maintenance, while closely monitoring safety, quality, and production output.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of manufacturing equipment, including high-speed press, assembly, metal stamping, injection molding, and packaging machinery.
- Set up machines and perform changeovers to support different product runs and manufacturing processes.
- Ensure reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive and corrective maintenance on motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues by observing equipment in operation, listening for irregularities, and using precision measuring and testing instruments to identify root causes.
- Inspect parts and components using rulers, calipers, micrometers, and other measuring instruments to determine changes in dimensional requirements and ensure product quality.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using appropriate hand and power tools to maintain optimal machine performance.
- Perform repairs and replacement of mechanical components, including gears, drives, pumps, pneumatic cylinders, and hydraulic systems.
- Handle product and components for quality inspections for up to 90% of the shift, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by following established safety procedures and housekeeping practices.
- Support high-speed manufacturing operations, including fast conveyor systems handling small parts and legacy metal press equipment such as Bruderer presses.
- Use SAP and HMI interfaces as needed to support production, maintenance activities, and machine operation.
- Conduct lubrication, general machine upkeep, and routine checks to reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
- Balance responsibilities across multiple operations, including working with three or more production areas and coating operations with multiple zones.
- Take initiative in learning new processes and equipment, actively participating in training and being willing to jump in and assist where needed.
- Uphold safety, quality, and production targets by responding quickly to equipment issues and collaborating effectively with the production team.
Essential Skills
- At least 2 years of mechanical experience working with fast-paced production machinery.
- Proven mechanical troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing and resolving issues with high-speed manufacturing equipment.
- Hands-on experience with machine setup, changeovers, and operating high-speed presses and related production equipment.
- Ability to perform preventive, corrective, and reactive maintenance on motors, conveyors, pneumatic tools, hydraulic systems, and production machines.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, and micrometers for repair and quality checks.
- Ability to read and write clearly and apply basic mathematics in a manufacturing setting.
- Capability to walk, stand, stoop, or bend for up to 100% of the shift to support operations and inspections.
- Comfort handling product and components for quality inspection for up to 90% of the shift.
- Experience with mechanical repair, part replacement, lubrication, and general machine upkeep.
- Ability to work with multiple operations simultaneously, including fast conveyor systems and coating areas.
- Familiarity with servo motors, gears, drives, hydraulic systems, and pneumatic cylinders.
- Strong commitment to safety, quality, and production goals in a manufacturing environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with legacy metal equipment, including Bruderer presses and high-speed metal stamping operations.
- High-speed manufacturing environments with fast conveyor systems and small parts handling.
- Exposure to SAP for production and maintenance-related activities.
- Experience using HMI interfaces to monitor and control machine functions.
- Knowledge of preventive and reactive maintenance practices, including scheduled PMs and rapid response to equipment issues.
- Ability to support multiple coating areas and operations within a manufacturing facility.
- Willingness to take initiative, learn new equipment and processes, and actively participate in training.
- Strong teamwork orientation, with the ability to collaborate closely with peers and leadership.
- Comfort working as a higher-level technician (e.g., Tech 3 level responsibilities) in a structured skill-tier environment.

Work Environment
The role is based in a clean manufacturing environment that includes some climate-controlled areas and well-maintained production spaces. Personal protective equipment is required and includes steel-toe footwear, ear protection, eye protection, long pants, and appropriate safety gear. The position operates within a structured technician level system, with opportunities to work at advanced levels. Multiple shifts are available, including a first shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., a second shift from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and an evening third shift, with shift premiums offered for second and third shifts. The facility supports high-speed manufacturing operations, fast conveyor systems, and legacy metal press equipment, all within a culture that promotes safety, collaboration, and long-term stability.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.50/hr.
