Primary Purpose of Job:

As the Grounds Keeper your primary responsibility is to maintain the exterior of Midwest Petroleum  locations. The Grounds Keeper will also help other maintenance members as directed by the  Maintenance Manager. These positions will also be required to organize and inventory tools and  materials within the warehouse. Most of the position will be general landscaping and cleaning of Midwest  Petroleum locations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

•       Responsible for clearing all trash, weeds, brush, and debris from retail locations. 

•       Inventory of all groundskeeping supplies and ensure they are safe and in good working condition. 

•       Sweeps or blows all hotel roadside entrances, walkways, and hotel back areas. 

•       Preparing outdoor areas for various weather conditions by: 

o      Weatherproofing  o                 Tying down unsecured items  o          Winterizing 

•       Remove snow in winter conditions and keep outdoor areas safe during bad weather, including spreading      deicer on walkways and steps. 

•       Perform light excavation, using shovels, picks, and other tools to dig trenches and level ground.   Handle any other work that can be assigned at the supervisor’s discretion. 

Education/Experience Qualifications

Highschool Diploma

1 year experience in painting-related fields

Physical Requirements

This position is performed in a fast-paced environment, with frequent exposure to general office equipment, beverage equipment, coolers, and any other site-specific equipment/factors. You could also encounter exposure to hazardous materials and loud noises. This job requires the ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach regularly. Must be able to frequently be required to lift, push, or pull weight of at least 5 to 75 pounds. Ability to work in different Midwest Petroleum Stations.
