ARMStaffing is looking for a Respiratory Therapist in Gulfport, Mississippi.

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule/Shift

Day Shift: 3 shifts of 12 hours per week, from 07:00 AM to 07:00 PM.

Job Description

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing quality patient care by administering intensive respiratory care and facilitating patient transport as medically prescribed. The therapist evaluates patients and recommends treatment plans while explaining the purpose and procedures of treatments to patients, including providing education at discharge. Responsibilities include operating various ventilatory and oxygen devices, performing diagnostic tests, and assisting with procedures related to respiratory care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct physician-prescribed respiratory treatments with various ventilatory and aerosol devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning as necessary.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography as per policy.
• Review chest x-rays to evaluate patient conditions.
• Perform 12-Lead EKG and conduct basic arrhythmia recognition.
• Assist with procedures such as bronchoscopy and chest tube placement.
• Maintain accurate records of respiratory treatments and patient responses.
• Communicate effectively with physicians regarding therapy efficiency.
• Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation as per BLS and ACLS guidelines.

Required Experience

• Current licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.
• Experience in intensive care settings preferred.

Certifications/Licensure

• Active and valid state Respiratory Therapist license.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
