And that’s where you come in.Job Description:Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Principal Project Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Brisbane, Australia.Key responsibilities:Planning of engineering activities in conjunction with the Project Manager, system and subsystem design teamsEngineering management, delivery, and change managementDesign review and managementEngineering status reporting incl. risk reviewsTechnical approvals and configuration managementSystems engineeringEnsuring all activities undertaken are conducted with due regard to a high level of continuous improvementEnsuring all activities undertaken are conducted with due regard to a high level of safetyKey knowledge and experience:Degree in Engineering or Computer Science with background in Electrical/Mechanical/Systems Engineering.5+ years of experience in a Project Engineering role, with experience in rail, systems and signalling.Experience in turnkey projects (within rail signalling) highly desirable, particularly delivering systems such as ETCS, ERTMS and CBTC. Experience in effective resource management and working with a large multi-cultural team.Experience in real-time system engineering; testing and integration activities, software verification and validation best practices and safety critical techniques.Agile mindset, able to take prompt decisions in a challenging environment.Ability to analyse data and draw insights to inform decision-making.Ability to form and build key stakeholder relationships.At Hitachi Rail, we know that a diverse business is a sustainable business.
