Overview As a key member of the store leadership team, you will be working alongside the Assistant and Store Manager, leading a talented group of Product Guides and facilitating the guest experience. You are a part of every area of the retail store – experience, product, community, operations, and people – and are inspired to seek out ways to evolve our practices. You are product‑obsessed and seek any chance to get outside to experiment and learn firsthand how our product performs. You prioritize your connection with nature and celebrate others doing the same. You are passionate about committing to bold objectives both personally and professionally, and work closely with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager in providing coaching on people experience, guest experience, and business needs. You take the initiative, have strong assessment skills, and seek out and offer relevant feedback as you celebrate achievements within the store. Responsibilities Lead in alignment with Arc’teryx Vision, Purpose and Values Support the in‑store experience during your shift, maintaining acute awareness of sales floor activity Assist Product Guides in delivering a world‑class guest experience through authentic technical product knowledge sharing Champion floor leadership and exceptional guest experience by leading from the floor five days a week Oversee the floor, addressing the five pillars of the business (experience, product, community, operations and people) Build community by sharing brand information and event specifics with the team and guests, ensuring each feels invited to participate Coach and provide feedback to Product Guides to unlock their potential and support the store in reaching targets Support inventory management throughout the day to maximize sell‑through, including receiving, processing, restocking, and destocking, and visual merchandising Communicate all company initiatives, policies and priorities to the team in collaboration with, or as required by, the Store Manager Leverage necessary tools to manage store business operations, overseeing sales targets, labor and budget management Network with potential partners to support events and maximize brand engagement in the community Manage opening and closing procedures for the store as designed by the company and leadership team Answer store phones, respond to voicemails and store emails; on occasion, respond on Regional social media channels Rotate through areas of focus to deep dive into each of the five pillars of the business Utilize the Point of Sale system to accurately and efficiently process guest transactions, including warranties, used‑gear trade‑ins, purchases, and returns Qualifications One or more years of leadership experience, with 1–2 years of retail experience Passionate about unlocking individuals’ potential; coaching comes naturally Strong customer service focus, delivering an exceptional guest experience and inspiring others to follow your lead Skilled in giving and receiving timely feedback, coaching and development Comfortable enforcing health and safety guidelines at all times Proven ability to set clear vision, align team around common goals and foster commitment Strong time‑management skills, able to prioritize and adapt to daily business needs while giving direction when needed Highly flexible and adaptable to ambiguity Committed to the best (often not the easiest) solutions with unwavering integrity Enthusiastic about getting outside and living it Strong written and verbal communication skills Able to lift up to 30 lbs Expectations All employees are expected to be available to work “Black Friday” and from the second week of December until the end of the holiday season, defined each year based on gift return periods. Fully accountable for and oversee execution of all deliverables on the Store Lead Role and Responsibilities document, and perform Product Guide responsibilities as needed. Under direction of Store Manager and Assistant Manager, perform other additional projects, duties and assignments as required or at request. Availability Requirements Minimum of one open shift, one close shift and one weekend shift each week. Availability must reflect business needs, which may change at the discretion of the Store Manager. Full Time – 30–40 hours per week (5 days per week). Part Time – 10–30 hours per week (2–4 days per week). Compensation Hourly. Base pay USD$22.80 – $26.20 per hour. Bonus program and benefits are offered in addition to this range.
