The Language Runtimes team are responsible for the curation, patching and deprecation of all the six Managed Runtimes that Lambda supports such as Python, NodeJS, Java, Ruby, Go, DotNet in addition to the custom runtime plus the associated lambda container images.An ideal candidate has experience delivering new initiatives and be comfortable working closely with Customers. You should be aware of industry best practices & patterns in all aspects of building, releasing & verifying software. You should also be familiar with industry trends in programming languages, build tooling, and deployment spaces. You will own and help driving exciting new and existing initiatives in Lambda, while being capable of working on massive scale, high availability, and ambiguous performance problems as well as developer experience problems. This role will involve identifying and solving problems in different programming language ecosystems, enabling new customer facing functionality, and new programming paradigms in the Serverless ecosystem.What does it take to succeed in this role?A roll-up-your-sleeves type. Nobody likes to get paged in the middle of the night or on the weekend, so we work to ensure that our systems are well engineered, fault tolerant and meet a high quality bar before the go into production. Our customers expect nothing less.
