Staff Accountant

Position Summary This position is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations, preparing and/or reviewing various general ledger entries, account and bank reconciliations, producing reports, and backing up other accounting functions. Duties and Responsibilities Performs general accounting and other related duties. Prepares various general ledger entries. Assists with the monthly and annual closings, meeting timelines and deadlines timely. Assists with preparation of monthly balance sheets, income statements. Assists with maintaining the general ledger and other reporting systems. Cross trains with other accounting functions -AP, AR, etc. Assists with preparation of required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies. Reconciles bank accounts, verifies deposits, and addresses inquiries from banks. Assists with cash reporting and account analysis. Assists with General Ledger Account reconciliations. Performs other related duties as assigned. Skills and Abilities Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Knowledge of general financial accounting. Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software. Advanced Excel skills preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with AR / AP functions preferred. Ability to prioritize tasks. Experience and Education Bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent experience required. 3+ years of accounting experience required. Knowledge and understanding of GAAP. Pay Range: $70,000-$80,000 /yr Schedule: Monday - Friday, generally 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Additional hours may occasionally be required during month-end close, year-end close, audits, or other business needs.
