Nurse Manager, Infusion (Chartwell)

UPMC Chartwell is looking for an Infusion Nurse Manager to lead their new Ambulatory Infusion Services team. This position will support a new program CHOICE by Chartwell. CHOICE delivers the exceptional quality of care Chartwell is known for in an outpatient ambulatory infusion suite. Chartwell works with patients and their physician to develop a personalized treatment plan. We offer a comprehensive list of medications to manage a variety of conditions, in addition to hydration, IV antibiotics, chemotherapy, catheter care and other medications, as prescribed. This manager will oversee staff who provide direct care to our patients as well as the general operations of the ambulatory infusion suite. This role will work 9 am to 5:30 pm, with the ability to flex between the hours of 7:30am to 8 pm. At this time weekends are by appointment, but this may evolve based on the needs of the business. Responsibilities Determine and flex staffing standards based on patient care needs, patient flow, medical acuity, procedures, staff skills and other clinical needs. Assumes accountability for day-to-day operations of the ambulatory infusion suite (AIS) while continuing to function clinically when necessary. Serves as the departmental role model in all aspects of patient and community care. Incorporates national professional organization as well as business unit and health system's goals to improve patient safety, quality, and satisfaction. The Nurse Manager is administratively accountable for the management of all activity within the practice. Demonstrates sound fiscal responsibility in the development and management of the practice budget and holds staff accountable for the efficient use of resources, as well as optimization of billing and documentation practices. Oversees program and patient coordination activities to ensure program goals and objectives are achieved by providing direction to staff, maintaining efficient operations, and overseeing quality of patient care provided. Develop and optimize the clinical care tools of the practice and the physicians (scheduling templates, space, staffing mix and patient care protocols) that improve the quality of the overall product delivered to the patient. Design and implement operational services, including both the home and infusion center settings which support the provisions of nursing care. Administer specialty and traditional IV medications and injections in the ambulatory infusion suites which includes placing venous access, monitoring vitals and any adverse reactions throughout the infusion and 30 minutes post infusion.
