Assistant Professor (Staff Psychiatrist)

Job Title: Assistant Professor (Staff Psychiatrist) Division: Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Location: Houston, TX Salary Range: FLSA Status: Exempt Summary The Menninger Clinic is dedicated to treating individuals with complex mental illnesses, including severe mood, personality, anxiety, and addictive disorders across the spectrum of inpatient to outpatient care. The clinic also focuses on teaching future mental health professionals and advancing mental healthcare through research. Menninger is an affiliated teaching hospital for Baylor College of Medicine, a leading academic health science institution. Job Duties The Staff Psychiatrist will evaluate and manage assigned patients, coordinate and monitor utilization management, plan and coordinate transitions of patients through the continuum of care, and maintain appropriate communication with agencies and individuals throughout treatment. Services may be delivered individually or within an interdisciplinary team setting, working alongside trainees in psychiatry, psychology, social work, mental health counseling, and nursing. Minimum Qualifications Must have an MD or DO degree with completion of an approved residency in general psychiatry; be board-certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or pass the examination for board certification within three years of graduation from residency. Current CPR certification is required. Preferred: Current license to practice medicine in Texas.
