Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVPICU position requiring 2+ years of CVICU/post-op heart experience and an active OR RN license.

Details

• 20-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit within a Magnet-designated, Level I Pediatric Trauma teaching hospital
• Cares for critically ill or injured pediatric patients from birth through young adulthood
• Patient population spans trauma, surgical, respiratory, cardiac, hematology/oncology, and neurologic cases with a focus on cardiovascular and post-op heart patients
• Performs and assists with bedside procedures including central line and arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubation/extubation, CRRT initiation/discontinuation, and ECMO cannulation/decannulation
• Utilizes specialized equipment such as Hamilton G5 ventilators, DirectLink ICP monitors, Arctic Sun targeted temperature management, and Baxter Prismaflex machines
• 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM) with weekend requirements
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within the hospital to NICU and other pediatric units
• Charting is done in Epic

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oregon or Compact) required; active OR RN license also required
• Pending license applications accepted if submitted to and received by the licensing board
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required, including CVICU and post-op heart experience
• BLS and PALS certifications required; NRP certification preferred
• Epic charting experience required
• Teaching hospital and Level I Trauma experience preferred
• First-time travelers accepted if they have 2+ years of PICU experience

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients requiring intensive medical or post-surgical care in a family-centered environment
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including intensivists, respiratory therapists, nutritionists, pharmacologists, therapists, social workers, and child life specialists
• No-print scrubs required, with scrubs provided for OR cases
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• Returning staff must have a gap of at least 6 months since their last assignment to be eligible
• All time off requests must be submitted upfront and cannot exceed 2 weeks
• COVID vaccination proof required for consideration, with no exemptions accepted
