Advanced practitioners in a medical practice, such as nurse practitioners (NPs), physician assistants (Pas) have a range of duties that can vary based on their specific role, the setting, and state regulations. Here are some common responsibilities:

1. Patient Assessment : Conduct thorough evaluations, including medical histories and physical exams.
2. Patient Appointments : Providers see 15-30 patients daily for care ranging from chronic conditions to joint injections.
3. Diagnosis : Identify health issues based on assessments and diagnostic tests.
4. Treatment Planning : Develop and implement individualized treatment plans, which may include medications, therapies, and referrals.
5. Patient Education : Provide education to patients and their families about health conditions, treatment options, and preventative care.
6. Procedures : Perform certain medical procedures and interventions, depending on their training and scope of practice, including joint injections, nerve blocks (Neuropathy) and trigger point injections.
7. Collaboration : Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
8. Monitoring : Follow up with patients to monitor their progress and adjust treatment plans, as necessary.
9. Documentation : Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, notes locked within 3 days (including visit day)
10. Research and Quality Improvement : Engage in research, evidence-based practice, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
11. Mentorship and Supervision : In some cases, they may mentor or supervise junior staff or students.
