Our religious school has approximately 80 students, a committed base of families, and a community that is open to new ideas. There is energy here and a real desire to grow. We are seeking a leader who will work with the rabbi to guide Jewish learning and engagement across the congregation, from early childhood through adulthood, and serve as a visible advocate for vibrant Jewish life within and beyond the synagogue. What You Will Do You will lead our religious school and help shape Jewish learning and engagement across the congregation. The core responsibility is leading the school, with flexibility to expand the role based on your strengths and the needs of the community. Leading the School Provide overall leadership of the school from vision to daily execution. Set curriculum goals and ensure student progress over time. Hire, supervise, and support teachers, madrichim (teens), and specialists. Build a culture of strong teaching and ongoing professional growth. Support inclusive classrooms that meet diverse learning needs. Oversee enrollment, recruitment, retention, and family communication. Manage schedules, records, and systems so the program runs smoothly. Building Strong Relationships Build strong relationships with students, parents, and educators. Partner with families in their children’s Jewish growth. Work with the rabbi to shape a meaningful B’nai Mitzvah experience. Coordinate youth, family, and Shabbat programming. Serve as a visible and welcoming presence in synagogue life. Expand learning and engagement. Developing Opportunities Beyond the School Develop opportunities for Jewish learning beyond the school, including for teens, adults, and families. Work with clergy and staff to connect learning, ritual, and community life. Build relationships with local Jewish organizations, camps, schools, and partners. Help the congregation think creatively about the future of Jewish education. What You Are Building A school community families are excited to be part of. Jewish Educational Background Ability to make Jewish learning meaningful and engaging. Comfort teaching or leading learners of different ages. Familiarity with Jewish tradition and practice. Ability to lead youth services is helpful but not required. Rabbinic, cantorial, or educational training is welcome but not required. Experience and Skills Experience supervising staff or leading programs. Experience with curriculum, youth work, or education preferred. Interest in innovation and program development. Strong organizational and communication skills. Ability to balance long‑term planning with daily responsibilities. Compensation We are committed to offering a competitive and transparent package. Full time salary range $70,000 to $80,000. Higher compensation possible for significant experience. Benefits include generous paid leave, professional development, flexible schedule.
