The Supported Housing Specialist isresponsible for implementing a PermanentSupportive Housing program to support eligible adults with a serious andpersistent mental illness by working collaboratively with local housingauthorities, other social service agencies, and property owners/landlords todevelop and provide stable, affordable, and long-term independent housingopportunities through short and long-term subsidies such as Section-8 vouchersor other types of permanent housing. Works with a caseload of clients who reside in Strafford Countywho receive the Bridge's subsidy. These individuals may or may not bereceiving mental health services from community partners. Our ideal candidate will have the following attributes: Bachelor’s degreepreferred, preferably in the social sciences or human services field. One yearexperience working with special needs populations; experience can besubstituted for formal education Ability to workflexible hours to provide on-call support and respond to after-hours concernsand emergencies Ability tocommunicate effectively both orally and in writing Ability toutilize technology provided to perform requirements of the job Valid driver’s license,proof of adequate automobile liability insurance and reliable transportationrequired We offer: Comprehensive benefits including health, dental,vision, life, and long-term disability insurance 403 (b) Generous paid time off Supportive, collegial and flexible workenvironment All candidates must pass a background check whichincludes, but is not limited to, criminal and driving records.
