Customer Service Representative

Position Summary Organization: New Mexico Museum of Natural History Foundation Location: 1801 Mountain Rd. NW, Albuquerque NM Job Summary: Primary point of contact for customers. Job will be primarily based in the DynaStore gift shop, with additional training in DynaTheater and the Membership Desk. All areas require a high level of professionalism and customer service. Responsibilities Demonstrate a welcoming, customer‑focused environment by greeting customers, responding to questions, and improving customer engagement at Dyna Store. Provide excellent customer service – recommend merchandise on the floor and at the register. Accurately use the point‑of‑sale system and balance cash drawers for both open and closing shifts. Restock and price merchandise as directed. Introduce promotions and opportunities to customers. Maintain tidiness of the store daily. Direct and sell memberships to customers as needed. Work in a team environment to assist with other projects and tasks as needed or assigned. Deliver high quality customer service at the Membership Desk. Provide services and answer questions to current members. Sell memberships to potential Museum visitors. Inform members and visitors of current Museum events. Maintain thorough knowledge of products and services available at the Museum, Planetarium, DynaTheater, NatureWorks, Foundation, and Cafe. Sell admissions to members and Museum visitors. Balance cash drawers for both open and closing shifts. Assist Foundation staff with upcoming events and projects. Efficiently open the theatre at the start of shift and close at the end of day. Operate projection system equipment for movies, lectures, and special events. Maintain cleanliness of the theater and operating room daily. Distribute, collect, wash, and dry 3‑D glasses. Seat guests, school groups, and make necessary announcements before show starts; assist handicapped guests with entry and seating. Notify the Theater Manager immediately of any facility problems or complaints, handle high‑level technical problems quickly and efficiently, including communicating to the audience the procedure that will follow (e.g., evacuating the theater properly during an alarm). Preferred Qualifications High School Diploma or Equivalency. Outstanding customer service skills, strong communication skills, math competency, and computer literacy. Ability to bend, lift, squat, and climb ladders as well as stand for long periods of time. Requires ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays. Must be able to work in a group as well as alone and self‑motivated for tasks. Must have a Work‑Study Award. Background Check required.
