Let's build the future together.About the RoleWe're looking for a teammate experienced in fabricating and assembling large structures. Beyond your hands-on work, we'll be looking to you for your feedback as we build a team where everyone does a bit of everything. More than anything, we are seeking a motivated candidate with a mind for solving unique manufacturing challenges. This role is focused on building space rated metallic structures. The role could entail working in confined spaces, loud environments, and with hazardous chemicals.Responsibilities:Cut, form, and weld both steel and aluminum from engineering drawings and instructionsProvide feedback on designs and manufacturing methodsUse precision calibrated tools – torque wrenches, micrometers, and calipers etc.Read and interpret technical drawings, and follow detailed work instructionsOperate cranes, forklifts and other heavy equipmentOperate manufacturing equipment such as water jets, CNC mills, etc.Help create a next generation manufacturing center for very large space systemsHelp implement and maintain systems for safety, compliance, and industry best practicesMaintain a clean and thoughtfully organized work areaOwner of processes and operations on the shop floorResolve issues independently or with engineering as requiredFollow OSHA safety standardsAbout YouYou're a successful candidate if you like working on a variety of projects and don't mind shifting priorities. You have enough experience to help coach a team, and are open to try things you've never done before. You can take guidance from engineering and use it to make go-no go decisions and have an eye for quality.Required Attributes:High school diploma or equivalency certificateHands on experience welding with any or all of the following: MIG/TIG/Laser systems for both steel and aluminumExperience leading or coaching teamsAbility to be on site and work daily with large metal assembliesCommitment to safety and pride in your work5+ years in a fabrication/manufacturing environmentWillingness to learn new tools and processesAbility to maintain equipment per manuals/instructionsAbility to lift up to 50 lbs, sit, and stand for extended periods of timeBonus Points for:A proven history of forming large metal structuresExperience in Class A welds (per AWS D17.1)Experience with non-destructively evaluated welds (X-ray, Eddy Current, Ultrasound)Experience executing detailed procedures for assembly and testingExperience in an environment where traceability is criticalExperience in safety critical environments including working with hazardous materials and pressurized systemsA&P license or experience working on large, engineered assemblies in the militaryExperience working in a cleanroom environmentAbility to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environmentProficiency with computers and Microsoft officeYou may be a good fit for this role even if you don't meet all of the attributes listed here, if you are that person, tell us why in a cover letter!For Marysville, WA, the expected hourly range for this role is $35.00 - 45.00/hour. Your level and hourly rate will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the considerations of job-related knowledge and skills, education, and direct experience.
