Emergency Veterinary Technician

BluePearl Pet Hospital in Langhorne, PA is seeking a knowledgeable and skilled Veterinary Technician to join our compassionate Emergency + ICU team! Schedule: 3x12 OR 4x10 hour shifts Pay: $21.00 - $43.00 / hour + competitive shift differentials This pay band is dependent on experience and advancement through our competency assessment tool. We also offer competitive shift differential pay for eligible hours worked for nights and weekends. Shift differentials are based on a 4-hour minimum. For example: Mon – Fri: 6pm to 8am = $3.50 Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 8am to 6pm = $3.50 Shift Differential Sat & Sun: 6pm to 8am = $5.00 Shift Differential As an Emergency Veterinary Technician, you will: Induce,monitorand recover anesthesia in patients and use anesthesia/monitoring equipment. Triage emergency cases as they arrive at the hospital including obtaining vitals such as temperatureheart rate, respiratoryrateand blood pressure. Perform digital radiography using proper technique including proper positioning of patients. Have a complete understanding of normal ranges of patient vital signs, including but not limited to heartand respiratory rate, temperature, bloodpressureand oxygen saturation. Obtain and interpret blood pressure and other vital signs and alert Veterinarian to changes and issues. Identifypatients at riskforarrest and initiate CPR. Properly calculate medical math (including constant rate infusions) and administer medications viaappropriate routesand duration. Are proficient at performing phlebotomy and placing intravenous catheters in all peripheral vessels. Place andmaintainfeeding tubes and central line catheters.
