Location: Plymouth, 900 Ship Pond Road, Plymouth, MA 02360, USA About the Role: Southeast Campus in Plymouth, MA is seeking a full-time School-Based Clinician to join its year‑round Chapter 766 private special education program, The COVE School, a therapeutic day school within a larger residential treatment setting. This position is a key therapeutic presence within the academic setting and provides direct clinical services and consultation to support students’ social‑emotional functioning, reduce barriers to learning, and promote progress toward educational and treatment goals. Under the direction of the Clinical Coordinator, the School-Based Clinician will be responsible for the following: Provide consistent and ongoing individual therapy to address students’ social‑emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs and to increase readiness for learning. Facilitate group counseling to build social skills, emotional regulation, coping strategies, and healthy life skills. Provide school‑based case management and care coordination, including collaboration with families/guardians, community providers, and collateral agencies as appropriate to support student progress. Deliver interventions using evidence‑based, trauma‑informed modalities aligned with program goals and student needs (e.g., TF‑CBT, IT‑CT, ARC) and integrate clinical strategies into the school day in collaboration with educational staff. Complete initial assessments and ongoing clinical evaluations; identify strengths, treatment needs, and barriers to engagement and learning. Participate in IEP development with a focus on social‑emotional/behavioral goals; collect data, contribute to progress reports, and report progress as required (e.g., quarterly). Consult with the Clinical Coordinator and interdisciplinary school team regarding complex student presentations; collaborate with teaching staff to align clinical supports, behavior strategies, and classroom interventions. Communicate as needed with residential staff to promote continuity of care while maintaining the clinician’s primary focus on the school program. Complete clinical documentation accurately and on time in accordance with agency policy, utilization review, and quality assurance standards; maintain appropriate confidentiality and professional boundaries. Participate in required supervision, in‑service training, and professional development to strengthen clinical skills and maintain relevant certifications/licensure. Provide consultation, coaching, and training to school staff and, as appropriate, to families/guardians and collateral providers on trauma‑informed practices, behavior support, and social‑emotional skill building. Respond to and help manage emotional/behavioral crises in the school setting by providing immediate support, risk assessment, de‑escalation, and safety planning in collaboration with the school team and per program procedures. Attend and actively participate in multidisciplinary school meetings (e.g., clinical/education team meetings, IEP meetings, treatment reviews) and support transition planning for students (e.g., re‑entry to public school, step‑down programming, or graduation). Maintain regular communication with families/guardians consistent with the treatment plan and school procedures; coordinate meetings and provide updates on clinical goals and progress within educational programming. Adhere to all applicable ethical, legal, and program requirements, including mandated reporting, documentation standards, and student privacy requirements. Qualifications Master’s degree in social work, mental health, or related discipline May be licensed as an independent practitioner in the state of Massachusetts Two to three years program specific clinical experience Excellent cultural awareness and sensitivity Computer literate including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer with the ability to learn new software applications May require knowledge of a second language such as Spanish or Haitian Creole Compensation The pay range listed represents the company’s good faith estimate of the salary or wage range for this position at the time of posting, as required under applicable law. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including a candidate’s relevant experience, education, skills, and internal equity relative to other employees in similar roles. Candidates with less directly related experience may be placed toward the lower end of the range, while those with extensive or specialized experience may be placed toward the higher end. Market conditions and budget considerations may also influence final pay decisions.
