Commercial/Industrial Electrician

This role is how our clients keep projects on schedule, production lines running, and buildings code-compliant. You will be the electrician they count on for clean installs, fast troubleshooting, and zero-drama safety.

Performance Objectives

• Complete conduit, feeder, and branch-circuit installs (EMT, rigid, IMC, flex) so first-time inspections pass NEC without rework.
• Bend, layout, and pull to blueprint and one-line diagrams; coordinate with other trades so your work never holds up the job.
• Install and commission lighting, devices, panels, disconnects, transformers, switchgear, motors, VFDs, and MCCs on time and to spec.
• Troubleshoot power and control issues on commercial and industrial equipment; restore service with minimal downtime.
• Wire and verify field devices, sensors, and PLC-related circuits so systems communicate and run as designed.
• Test circuits, confirm voltage/phase/load, and document that every install meets OSHA, NEC, and site LOTO requirements.
• Show up first shift, job-ready, with tools and PPE, and leave the area cleaner and safer than you found it.

Environment & Resources

You work long-term commercial and industrial assignments (new construction, renovations, manufacturing floors) on first shift. You report through Summit’s recruiting and field leadership, who match you to the right site and advocate for you. You bring standard electrical hand tools and required PPE; the job site supplies materials and specialty equipment. Pay is $25–$35/hour based on demonstrated skill. Benefits include 401(k) with match, PTO, holiday pay, health insurance, and supplemental coverage. $1,500 referral bonus available.

Essential Qualifications

• 5+ years commercial electrical construction or 6+ years industrial/manufacturing electrical experience (or equivalent mix).
• Proven ability to install and bend EMT and to read blueprints, schematics, and one-lines.
• Comfortable installing distribution gear for industrial work, motors, VFDs, and basic controls/field devices.
• Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and authorization to work in the U.S.
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs as needed;
• All candidates must pass pre-employment drug screen (drug-free workplace) and background check.
• Own standard hand tools and OSHA-compliant PPE (hard hat, ANSI glasses, hi-vis, long pants, safety-toe boots, gloves, hearing protection).
