Plant Simulation Engineer - Automotive (Full Benefits Package)

Akkodis is seeking a two, full-time Plant Simulation Engineer for W2 or C2C arrangement to join our team in the Detroit Metropolitan area for the next several years. Role is hybrid and can allow work from home one day per week. Remaining days of the week are onsite. Starting Salary Range: Up to $135,000 for W2 (rate commensurate based on experience and education levels). Will also consider C2C. Responsibilities Will create and modify plant simulations utilizing PlantSim and/or Simul8 software to improve productivity at various stages of automotive manufacturing. Perform simulation analysis for the program from approval milestone phases through. Collect and analyze input data for simulations. MTBF/MTTR, Cycle Time, Line Speeds, Operator Counts. Review and analyze layouts required for simulations, provide recommended improvements. Provide inputs and buy‑off on Total Plant Models for Final Assembly. Develop, build, and optimize department simulations in support of Final Assembly advanced program study process. Develop, build, and optimize Pre‑Delivery / End of Line simulations in support of Final Assembly advanced program study process. Develop, build, and optimize Tire Line simulations in support of Final Assembly advanced program study process. Develop, build, and optimize sequence bank simulations in support of Final Assembly advanced program study process. Develop, build, and optimize department simulations in support of Final Assembly Launch Readiness for New Model Programs. Develop, build, and optimize Pre‑Delivery / End of Line simulations in support of Final Assembly Launch Readiness for New Model Programs. Develop, build, and optimize Tire Line simulations in support of Final Assembly Launch Readiness for New Model Programs. Develop, build, and optimize sequence bank simulations in support of Final Assembly Launch Readiness for New Model Programs. Establish extended property values for LERR & ERC for all assets in FIS/IIoT, including updates or changes due to capacity increases/reductions. Prepare & present final simulation results in PowerPoint format to FAE Management and Final Assembly Plant. Carrier Counts, Line Speeds, Buffer Sizes, Layout Optimization, Sensitivity Analysis, End of Line Resource Optimization. Provide targets for JPH, MTBF, MTTR, Availability for Tooling and Facility equipment. Review and incorporate standardized benchmark data for both equipment and manual intervention. Manage Dashboard tracking status of Program simulation. Qualifications Engineering degree and moderate expertise while utilizing PlantSim and/or Simul8 software within the past 3 years while performing new or modifying existing simulations along with presentations to leadership. Automotive industry experience is preferred. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
