Travel Nursing Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,830-$1,930
• Assignment Type: 13-week travel nursing contract
• Start Date: November 30, 2026
• Location: Columbus, Ohio
• Healthcare Setting: Oncology emergency department
• Schedule: Three 12-hour night shifts per week
• Shift: Nights, approximately 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:4
• Unit Size: Approximately 15 rooms and 19 beds
• Floating: Required as needed
• Time Off: Requested time off must be submitted with the application

Travel Emergency Department RN Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license in Ohio or a valid compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
• Minimum of 2 years of recent emergency department nursing experience
• At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
• Current acute-care emergency nursing experience within the past 12 months
• Oncology nursing experience preferred, but not required
• Epic electronic health record charting experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications
• Graduation from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
• Ability to complete required credentialing and fingerprinting promptly before the assignment start date
• Two professional references, including at least one supervisor, manager, director, or other formal leader

Emergency Department RN Responsibilities

• Provide safe, compassionate, and timely emergency nursing care to adult and pediatric oncology patients
• Perform patient assessment, triage, prioritization, reassessment, and clinical documentation
• Start and maintain peripheral IVs and administer emergency medications, blood products, and IV vasopressors as ordered
• Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias and arterial blood gases, and obtain 12-lead ECGs
• Care for patients requiring ventilatory support, including BiPAP and CPAP management
• Provide central-line care and maintain infection-prevention and isolation precautions
• Recognize and respond to oncologic emergencies, stroke symptoms, sickle cell crises, cardiac events, and other high-acuity conditions
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and the interdisciplinary care team to coordinate treatment and disposition
• Float to other areas as needed while maintaining professional standards and continuity of care
