Pediatric Hospitalist-Newborn Nursery

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking an experienced full-time Pediatrician to take on a leadership role in a new 10-bed LDRP Level-I Nursery at CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Belmont, opening in early 2025. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a growing community just outside Charlotte, North Carolina. The role involves daily rounds on newborns, attending deliveries, and managing/transporting newborns needing higher-level care, supported by a team of NNPs and close collaboration with a Level III NICU.

Practice Info

• Brand new, 10-bed LDRP Level-I Nursery at CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Belmont, scheduled to open beginning of 2025.
• Anticipated 600 deliveries a year.
• Average daily census of about 5 newborns.
• The Belmont team will consist of 4 NNPs/Pediatric Hospitalist.
• Sister LEVEL III NICU staffed by 2 neonatologists and 5-6 NNPs at CaroMont Regional Medical Center-Gastonia, 7 miles away.

Responsibilities

• Play a leadership role in a brand new, 10 bed LDRP Level-I Nursery.
• Daily rounds on newborns.
• Attending deliveries when requested.
• Take call from home.
• Stabilize, manage and facilitate transport of newborns to adjacent NICUs in Charlotte or Gastonia for newborns needing higher level care.
