AI Workflow Automation Engineer

Avalara is seeking an AI Workflow Automation Engineer to build an enterprise-grade automation ecosystem that enhances work automation, orchestration, governance, and scalability. This role involves using n8n as a core platform to design secure, reliable, and measurable automation solutions that minimize manual tasks and bolster process quality, thereby facilitating swift business transformation.

Key responsibilities include:

Engineer scalable, secure, and resilient automation solutions using n8n and related integration platforms.
Design hybrid automation patterns utilizing n8n, Boomi, APIs, event-driven systems, and AI agents.
Build AI-enabled workflows that support intelligent decision-making and human-in-the-loop controls.
Define development standards, reusable templates, and security protocols for enterprise automation.
Establish monitoring, logging, and anomaly detection for improved uptime and workflow trust.

Required skills and qualifications include:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science Engineering.
10+ years of experience in enterprise automation and workflow engineering.
Deep hands-on experience with n8n or Boomi.
Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Applied experience using large language models and automation metrics.
