Polysomnographic Technologist

Allied Health Specialty
PRIMARY PURPOSE/FUNCTION: The Allied Health Specialty practiced under the direction and supervision of a Medical Director involving the attended monitoring and testing of individuals suffering from any sleep disorders classified in the international classification of sleep disorders.
Educational and/or Professional Qualifications
1. Bachelors or Associates degree in Respiratory Therapy
Previous Experience:
- Minimum of six (6) months clinical experience in polysomnography.
- High degree of communication skills.
Licensure, Certification, Registration, etc.:
- Current license as a Respiratory Therapist by the State of Louisiana required.
- Current registry by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologist is strongly encouraged.
- Certification in Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers by American Heart Association required within 90 days of hire.
- ACLS and/or PALS are preferred.
