About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 24 months of Medical Surgical, IMCU, Stepdown, or Progressive Care experience in a hospital or medical center setting is required. Client/neurosurgery care experience is required. Ortho/orthopedic care experience is required. Trauma care experience is highly preferred. License: Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license is required. Certifications: BLS, ACLS (AHA) required. NIHSS certification is preferred and can be obtained during onboarding. Must-Have: Candidates must have completed at least one travel assignment in the previous 12 months. Drip experience is required: Heparin, PCA, 3% Sodium/Na. EKG/strip reading and telemetry experience is required. De-escalation certificate is preferred: CPI, MOAB, MAB, or SAMA accepted. Trauma Level I experience is highly preferred. Description: We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit. The unit focuses on heavy neuro trauma, neurosurgery, craniectomy, and orthopedic care. The Nurse will work with a patient ratio of 1:5-6. Specialty equipment includes telemetry, left equipment, chest tubes, and airvo. Candidates may be required to float across multiple campuses. The position entails working every other weekend or every third weekend, depending on staffing and census. Candidates should have a skills checklist specific to the discipline of Medical Surgical, IMCU, Stepdown, or Progressive Care. Professional references are preferred from a charge/supervisor/nurse manager/director within the last 24 months.
