Shipping & Receiving Manager

The Warehouse Supervisor directly supervises and coordinates all activities in the warehouse department to maximize productivity on assigned shifts and areas. This includes planning, assigning, and directing work, addressing product and employee complaints, and resolving problems. This person carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company’s policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable laws while applying continuous improvement methods. Responsibilities Supervise all phases of warehouse operations and activities, including schedules, product put‑away operations, and inventory management. Maintain inventory and product loss control, coordinate timely and accurate receiving, and ensure safety/operational guidelines are met. Ensure procedures are in place for production to put away efficiency, product quality, employee safety, and compliance with state and federal guidelines. Work with plant management and other supervisory staff to assign, direct, review and monitor staff to maximize productivity in the warehouse and shipping department. Establish and monitor employee work schedules to meet business needs. Support and lead Warehouse Coordinator activities and oversee SAP transactions to ensure transaction integrity. Support inventory activities, identify, investigate, and resolve inventory discrepancies and exception codes. Recommend improvements to reduce costs and drive productivity while achieving Sales to Service goals. Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems. Maintain time and shipping records, prepare reports for management review. Ensure warehouse work areas are clean and organized. Supervise and coordinate product rework activities. Collaborate with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Supervise employees in scheduling and daily activities, ensuring effective selection, retention, feedback, disciplinary action, and performance management. Participate in grievances, investigations, or other contract‑related activities if a collective bargaining agreement exists. Provide effective employee training and instruction; complete training documentation and progress. Oversee instruction, implementation, and enforcement of policies related to employees. Adhere to the Saputo Code of Ethics and actively apply Saputo values. Engage in typical manager responsibilities: planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and delegating. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s degree preferred, or a minimum of 2 years plant experience in a warehouse setting. Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices. Experience leading and following Safety/Security Policies and Procedures. Ability to follow all Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures and report and follow through on any deficiencies. Lift truck certification or ability to obtain a lift truck certification (Powered Industrial Trucks). Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and computer‑based applications, SAP a plus. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to adapt to changing organizational and operational needs; lead others through change. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Skill in organization and prioritization, and attention to detail. Team player and leader with ability to work across multiple functions and disciplines. Physical ability to walk, climb, kneel, stoop, and lift 50 lbs. for extended periods in a manufacturing facility; environment includes wet, cold, hot, humid, chemicals, high noise (controlled at TWA of 85 dB); use approved PPE.
