As our Surgical Tech III, you will help as a team member during the preoperative, intra-operative and postoperative phases of the surgical procedure.

Every day you will demonstrate advanced skills in operating room technology and proficient knowledge of surgical procedures. You will be expected to consistently demonstrate proper care and handling of instruments and equipment according to AAMI/ANSI Standards. Consistently demonstrate the principles of aseptic technique according to AORN Guidelines for Perioperative Practice, FHMC policy and procedures and the guidelines described in Universal Precautions.

To be successful in this role, you must:

• Demonstrate ability to serve as a preceptor and role model for new Surgical Technologist staff and Surgical Technologist students during their clinical rotations.
• Demonstrate ability to work within a decentralized model of patient care delivery.
• Demonstrate a caring compassionate attitude toward others.
• Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot equipment/instrument issues in collaboration with surgical team members.
• Demonstrate ability to organize and prioritize work efficiently.
• Demonstrate ability to work in a stressful environment while remaining calm, efficient and focused.

Founded in 1940, Dignity Health - Marian Regional Medical Center is a 191-bed, acute care, nonprofit hospital located in Santa Maria, California. Serving over 250,000 patients annually, the hospital offers a full complement of services including Level II Trauma Center, Level III NICU, cancer care, orthopedics, and stroke care.
