Standard Job Description Performs a variety of duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and/or optical areas. Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests, diagnoses, and maintains equipment, components, devices, or systems. Works from schematics, engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions. Operates related equipment; conducts tests and reports data in prescribed format. Performs calibration and alignment checks; makes adjustments, modifications, and replacements as directed; prepares prescribed compounds and solutions. Exclude technicians working in production or quality assurance. Desired Skills Ability to engage, communicate, and interact with engineers, leadership/management, and program customers, especially through the presentation of ideas and negotiation of priorities. Logical and analytical thinking skills with the ability to visualize and discuss optimal fabrication approach to build or modify mechanical/electronic/electromechanical assemblies. Experience fabricating avionics electrical cable harnesses, chassis, assemblies, and/or system equipment racks in a quality controlled environment, with knowledge of relevant standards. Experience generating, modifying, and providing feedback for engineering drawings with a focus on design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.
