Senior Director, Head of Clinical Pharmacology

Vir Biotechnology seeks a Senior Director of Clinical Pharmacology to lead technical and operational aspects of the department across infectious disease and oncology programs. This role involves hands-on leadership of a team, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic input on drug development from preclinical through regulatory approval.

Responsibilities

Oversee clinical pharmacology and translational PK/PD operations across all development stages for infectious disease and oncology programs
Develop fit-for-purpose clinical pharmacology strategies to support development and regulatory decisions from pre-IND through market authorization
Select and execute modeling and simulation approaches to inform dose selection, optimization, and justification across drug development phases
Manage and develop the Clinical Pharmacology team, including hiring, mentoring, and capability building
Establish and manage external vendor collaborations and cross-functional partnerships to advance programs

Requirements

PhD, PharmD, or MD in clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetics, pharmaceutics, or related field
13+ years industry experience in clinical pharmacology, DMPK, or related fields
Mastery of nonclinical and clinical pharmacokinetic concepts and methodologies
Expertise in PK/PD, PopPK, and exposure-response modeling
Extensive experience leading translational and clinical pharmacology programs
Strong experience with regulatory submissions and document preparation (IND, NDA/BLA)
