Senior Application Developer

Salary: $69,588 - 100,019.52 per year Requirements:

• We require a bachelors degree with 21 semester hours (32 term credits) in computer science, data processing, computer information systems, data communications, networking, systems analysis, computer programming, information assurance, IT project management, or mathematics.
• We accept an associates degree with 16 semester hours (24 term credits) in a related field plus two years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, or information technology technician, or two years of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant in place of the education requirement.
• We also accept a high school diploma combined with four years of experience as an application programmer, computer operator, information technology technician, or four years of experience as an Information Technology Student Assistant in place of the education requirement.
• We require two years of professional experience equivalent to an Information Technology Infrastructure or Programmer/Analyst P11.
• We expect strong knowledge of web application development using ASP.NET, MVC and/or Entity Framework, SQL Server and/or Oracle databases, and analysis and requirements gathering with customers.
• Experience with Azure DevOps, GIT, or other source control tools is important.
• Good written communication skills are essential.

• Some positions may require certification in specific information technology programs.

• We design, develop, test, and implement computer systems and applications for the Department of Health and Human Services.
• We support application development and maintenance in an n-tier web application and web services environment.
• We develop, test, and deploy application releases, updates, and modifications.
• We work with technologies such as HTML5, Angular/JavaScript, SQL, C#, Microsoft Visual Studio, SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, Postman, Azure DevOps, and MS SharePoint.
• We perform a full range of information system analyst duties as part of the Senior Application Developer role.

We support the business operations of state agencies through services such as building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of state retirement systems. This Senior Application Developer role is part of our Agency Services area and is based in Lansing, Michigan. We offer a hybrid schedule with two days on-site and three days remote each week, and this position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus of up to $2,500.
