Head Coach - Track & Field / Cross Contry

Overview To lead the strategic direction of the men’s and women’s track & field / cross country program as the Head Coach, responsible for all operations and management of the program, including scheduling, budgeting, recruiting, fundraising, practice and game planning, student‑athlete development, monitoring academic progress, hosting camps and tournaments, and community engagement. All work will be done in accordance with university, conference, and NCAA regulations. The position requires willingness and flexibility to work nights and weekends. This position is a campus security authority and mandatory reporter as defined by federal and state law. Key Job Responsibilities Administrative Management (30%) – Execute responsibilities in accordance with NCAA, UW‑Parkside, and UW System policies. Monitor and support student‑athletes’ academic success, manage budgets and revenue generation, and represent the athletics department with campus groups, GLIAC, and NCAA. Maintain compliance with NCAA rules and report violations. Leadership & Fundraising (20%) – Lead overall management and execution of the program, foster a positive environment, and assist fundraising and alumni engagement efforts. Coaching, Recruiting & Player Development (50%) – Plan, organize, and manage all operations; develop and implement game strategy; schedule and supervise practice and games; recruit student‑athletes; and maintain discipline and conduct to support program image. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree. At least 2 years of coaching experience in high school or in track & field / cross country. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree. At least 3 years of coaching experience at the college level in track & field / cross country. Experience with the college/student‑athlete recruiting process. Experience as a head coach at the collegiate level.
