Physical Therapist

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will provide physical therapy services to patients as referred, including assessment, treatment plan development, implementation, follow-up, and discharge planning. You will play an essential role in the clinical operations of the department, which includes program development and performance improvement activities.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive diagnostic evaluations to determine the physical and cognitive abilities of inpatients and outpatients, considering specific diagnoses and age-related needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans with the participation of patients and families, taking into account their diagnoses and age-specific requirements.
• Consistently adhere to policies and procedures related to documentation, including initial patient evaluations, daily and weekly progress notes, and discharge summaries.
• Participate in patient care and family conferences, in-service training programs, and departmental meetings.
• Counsel patients, families, and other involved individuals regarding patient evaluations, care, and treatment, while ensuring timely discharge planning and providing effective education and training.
• Assist in coordinating and supervising student programs for Physical Therapy and Physical Therapy Assistants, as well as volunteer programs.
• Support new associates by providing orientation and scheduling patient appointments to ensure quality coverage and appropriate staff supervision.
• Demonstrate adherence to core values and support departmental performance improvement initiatives.
• Maintain departmental productivity standards and explore creative ways to enhance efficiency.
• Identify community resources and make appropriate referrals to enrich patient care.
• Provide educational opportunities for self and team, and engage in research activities when appropriate.
• Demonstrate competency in providing age-specific and developmental care that meets the unique needs of each patient.
• Adapt assessment and treatment methods to accommodate the diverse physical, psychological, and cultural needs of patients.
• Foster positive relationships with medical staff, physicians, and referral sources.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Education & Skills: Bachelor's, Master's, or entry-level Doctorate of Physical Therapy degree from an accredited college or university in Physical Therapy is required.
• Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications: Current Physical Therapist licensure in New Mexico is required. BLS certification from AHA is also necessary.
• Experience: No experience required.
• Candidates must successfully complete pre-employment and annually required health screenings.

Work Schedule

This position is full-time, with a work schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
