Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced OR RN for a Level II Trauma acute care hospital, requiring an active AK RN license and prior operating room experience.

Details

• Acute hospital setting in the Operating Room department
• Magnet-designated, Level II Trauma facility recognized as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska
• 407 staffed beds
• Day shift schedule of either 4x10 or 3x12 hour shifts, with start times varying between 0645-1915 or 0900-2130
• Weekend work required
• On-call limited to coverage for call-offs only
• May float to like units within the hospital or affiliate hospitals as needed
• Uses Epic charting system
• Scrubs provided by facility
• Free parking available

Requirements

• Active AK RN license required in hand prior to offer
• Minimum 2 years of recent Operating Room RN experience
• BLS certification required
• ACLS and CNOR certifications preferred
• Experience with 1:1 patient ratios
• Epic charting experience required
• Level I Trauma experience preferred
• 2 supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Current certifications must be submitted for consideration
• Hepatitis B vaccination required (titers or declinations not accepted)

Additional Information

• Perform circulating and scrub duties across a wide range of surgical specialties including general, orthopedic, neuro, vascular, thoracic, urology, ENT, and gynecologic surgery
• Experience with robotic-assisted surgery systems (Da Vinci Xi, Mazor) a plus
• Must be willing to work 2 of the 3 major holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be considered, as local candidates are not accepted
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• Former permanent Providence staff must be separated for at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
• Travelers may work a maximum of 1 calendar year at this facility, followed by a required 6-month break before returning
• All requested time off must be submitted and approved at the time of offer
• Housing options in the area may be limited
