Staff Physician - Float Pool (Pediatrician)

Public Health - Seattle & King County is seeking a pediatrician to work as‑needed to provide direct care in its Community Health Services clinic at Eastgate Public Health. Responsibilities Diagnose and provide medical treatment to clients. Educate and counsel clients on a broad scope of personal and health care issues. Provide medical triage and patient care evaluation. Provide technical consultation to nursing staff for assigned work location. Document clinical evaluation, diagnosis, procedures, treatment, outcomes, referrals, and consultations. Perform minor procedures and other duties as assigned within position’s scope. Provide clinical education and supervision of resident and fellow physicians. Required Qualifications WA State Medical License obtained prior to hiring. National Provider Identification (NPI) obtained prior to hiring. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration obtained prior to hiring. Graduation from an accredited medical school and residency program. Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Medicine (or Family Medicine). Demonstrated experience working in multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurses, social workers, residents and other providers. Demonstrated commitment to equity and social justice. Experience managing chronic diseases and working with vulnerable patients with histories of homelessness, behavioral health conditions, incarceration and substance use. Knowledge of outpatient care, including medical diagnosis and treatment. Knowledge of community resources and health service delivery systems. Knowledge of medical records documentation. Knowledge of quality assurance and improvement techniques. Skill in oral and written communications. Skill in problem solving and triage decisions. Additional Requirements Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR. Pass a thorough background investigation. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web‑based tools. Compliance with OSHA/WISHA guidelines and required immunizations. Regular and reliable attendance and effective communication skills. Ability to respond to emergencies and work outside regular hours if required. Desired Ability to be assigned 2+ shifts per month (may vary). Strong clinical experience in pediatric primary care medicine and comprehensive knowledge of managing vulnerable populations. Occasional precepting of resident physicians in Pediatrics. Experience providing medication treatment for opioid use disorder in a low‑barrier outpatient setting, including use of long‑acting injectable buprenorphine. Understanding of the role of Public Health in promoting health and well‑being across the lifespan and addressing social determinants of health. Demonstrated experience and desire to work in multidisciplinary teams, including clinicians, nurses, medical assistants, social workers, community health workers, and other care team members. Skill in organization and time‑management techniques. Work Schedule These positions are on an as‑needed basis. Work schedules are during normal business hours of 8:00‑5:00; shifts may include AM, PM, or full‑day assignments. Additionally, there may be online training courses that can be completed during non‑traditional hours. Work Location Eastgate Public Health Center: 14350 SE Eastgate Way, Bellevue, WA 98007.
