Regional Sales Director - Greenville, SC/Hybrid

Summary Leads the sales, renewal, and service operations for the assigned region, driving growth, customer retention, and market expansion. Provides strategic leadership to a high‑performing team while fostering and strengthening long‑term relationships with customers and key stakeholders to ensure exceptional service and business results. Location & Schedule Full‑time (40 hours per week), Monday‑Friday hybrid in Greenville, South Carolina. 8‑hour shift during normal business hours 8:00AM‑5:00PM. Occasional overtime and occasional on‑site travel may be required. Responsibilities Recruit, develop, train, and guide staff to meet, maintain, and increase sales, retention, and service goals for BCBSSC products in the assigned region. Develop, implement, and manage marketing strategies, short‑ and long‑range plans, and budgets for the region. Assist sales with presentations and hosting prospects and clients; support account renewals and new account implementation. Coordinate operational tasks with customer service, claims, benefits, and membership departments. Monitor the marketplace to identify sales trends, competitor activity, and product design opportunities. Manage issue resolution with customers and clients related to implementation, renewals, and ongoing account management. Build and maintain relationships with business partners, vendors, agents, and brokers. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in a job‑related field. 4 years of job‑related experience or an associate’s degree with 2 years of experience is acceptable. Experience 8 years of insurance sales and marketing management experience, including training/development programs. Experience managing group health insurance products (fully insured, self‑funded, level‑funded, medical, dental, ancillary). Experience in people management and relationship building. Skills & Abilities In‑depth knowledge of group health insurance, pricing, claims payment policy, benefit analysis, and stop loss. Working knowledge of internal operational systems (medical management, claims, customer service, eligibility, underwriting). Strong sales team motivation and performance results. Excellent customer service, presentation, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Analytical or critical thinking, problem‑solving, and negotiation skills. Basic business math proficiency and ability to handle confidential information. Independent work, prioritization, sound decision making, and judgment. Required Software & Tools Microsoft Office Licensing Department of Insurance licensure required within 60 days of hire in the state of employment. Preferred Qualifications At least 5 years of health insurance sales experience across product lines. At least 3 years of people management experience.
