Leveraging innovative solutions and technologies, we serve customers all over the world.About The PositionUnder the direction of the Department Supervisor and in cooperation with the Team Leader, handle materials and expedite parts to proper production locations. Sort, organize, deliver, and store parts and materials as needed and appropriate, in a timely routine manner and in accordance with the production schedule, making independent decisions with minimal direct supervision given appropriate instructions.Key Skills and Competencies:Ability to pick and stage parts for production linesBasic computer skills, including scanners and barcode systemsForklift and material-handling equipment operationEffective teamwork and communication skillsAttention to detail and organizationCommitment to workplace safety and company policiesKey Responsibilities:Receive, identify, label, stock, and record materials and supplies to maintain accurate inventoryLoad, unload, and transport materials using forklifts and carts, both indoors and outdoorsVerify materials against packing slips and purchase ordersPackage and stage parts safely for delivery to production and internal customersRespond to material requests and communicate effectively with internal teamsPull and verify materials listed on production ordersLearn and use the company's inventory management systemSort materials by destination to ensure accurate deliveryPerform and document daily forklift and crane inspections prior to operationFollow all safety procedures and participate in safety initiativesPerform additional duties as assignedQualifications:High school diploma or GED required0–1 year of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experienceForklift experience preferred but not requiredBasic computer skills, including use of handheld devicesAbility to work independently with instruction and collaborate effectively in a teamStrong problem-solving skills and adaptability to changeAbility to follow written and verbal instructionsCapable of working in a fast-paced production environment and meeting deadlinesWillingness to accept feedback and correct errors when neededSupervisor and Leadership Expectations:NoneOur Culture and Values:Employees at Astec are expected to demonstrate the following values:Commitment to customer satisfactionIntegrity and ethical conductRespect for all individualsInnovation and entrepreneurial mindsetEmphasis on safety, quality, and productivityWork EnvironmentManufacturing environmentShop manufacturing environment exposures include exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools and equipment, vibration, fumes or airborne particles, motorized vehicles, welding and machining operations, outside weather conditions and exposure to the risk of electric shock.
