Orthopedic Hand Surgeon Opportunity
Our organization is a physician-led multispecialty group with over 650 providers, presenting an exciting opportunity for an Orthopedic Hand Surgeon to join our dynamic clinic in a thriving community.
Key Responsibilities- Manage orthopedic hand patients through comprehensive care.
- Conduct patient examinations and perform in-office procedures.
- Administer multiple joint injections and provide casting/bracing services.
- Carry out pre-operative assessments and physical examinations.
- Perform surgical interventions and follow up with post-operative care.
- Address both acute and chronic non-surgical conditions.
- Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Prescribe medications and formulate treatment plans.
- Participate in call responsibilities, engaging with a leading Level 2 trauma facility in Idaho for general orthopedic and hand trauma cases.
The typical work week is Monday through Friday, with a call requirement of 7 days per month, covering both Hand and General Orthopedic calls at the Level 2 Trauma Facility.
Candidate ProfileThe ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong passion for orthopedic health, showcasing comprehensive assessment skills, expert clinical abilities, and effective problem-solving capabilities.
Support and Team StructureThe new surgeon will become part of a well-established team that includes:
- 7 orthopedic surgeons
- 2 non-operative sports medicine physicians
- Multiple podiatrists
- A full team of Advanced Practice Providers (APPs)
This team covers general orthopedics, sports medicine, foot & ankle, hand, and orthopedic spine surgery across 4 clinic locations and 2 hospitals, with involvement in an Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC).
Requirements- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) degree.
- Successful completion of an ACGME-accredited orthopedic residency program.
- Board certification through the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery (ABOS) or the American Osteopathic Board of Orthopedic Surgery (AOBOS), or the ability to obtain such certification within 3 years of employment.
- Completion of a Hand Fellowship with proficiency in managing complex hand trauma.
- Possession of an Idaho medical license and privileges at SARMC and other affiliated hospitals as necessary.
- Valid controlled substance registration with the Board of Pharmacy and DEA.
