Patient Coordinator - PRN

Akumin is a leading provider of outpatient radiology and oncology services, partnering with top hospitals and health systems nationwide to deliver advanced diagnostic imaging and exceptional patient care close to home. We are currently hiring for a Patient Coordinator at our Zephyrhills facility. This will be a PRN time position. The Patient Coordinator is responsible for performing a variety of customer service and patient care tasks to ensure a positive patient experience. Greets and assists patients, customers and visitors in person and over the phone. Will perform patient registration in various systems. Answers all phone calls in a professional and courteous manner. May be responsible for verifying insurance coverage and obtain prior authorization. Patient Assistance: May perform preliminary screening of patients prior to procedures, which may include medical history. In the mobile setting, may assist in preparing the unit for transport. May order supplies and ensure the work area is properly stocked. May prepare medical records for physicians, patients and customers. systems and on written documents. May assist the clinical staff with documentation and image delivery to the patient, physician, or contracted customer. High School Diploma or equivalent experience required. For Mobile Radiology and Oncology, CPR Certification must be obtained prior to hire. For Fixed Radiology, CPR Certification is a plus. Strong customer service skills. Basic knowledge of computer applications and programs. Local travel may be required to support multiple sites. The COVID-19 vaccination is/may be a condition of employment. Six months customer service or related experience and/or training. Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
