Medical Office Coordinator

Job Description

Greet and assist patients, physicians, and visitors in a professional and courteous manner. Answer phones, take accurate messages, and direct calls appropriately. Schedule and coordinate office visits and testing. Provide patients with accurate appointment, testing, and preparation instructions. Coordinate physician schedules and communicate schedule changes to clinical staff. Maintain accurate patient records, reports, schedules, and documentation. Assist with pre-admission testing and procedure coordination. Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and other departments. Perform general administrative duties including faxing, scanning, correspondence, and document preparation. Maintain patient confidentiality and follow departmental and organizational policies. Assist with training new staff and support the team during high-volume periods. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or higher preferred. Previous medical office experience preferred. EPIC experience preferred. Knowledge of medical or cardiovascular terminology is a plus. Strong computer, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment. Ability to take initiative and work independently when appropriate. Professional, dependable, and team-oriented.
