Heavy Equipment Operator

Job Description

Operates and maintains forklift truck to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Transports material in between departments.

Load and unload materials from trucks and trailers

Maintain a steady flow of material through the yard.

Oversee the condition of the entire yard, all roads and pipe racks.

Communicate and coordinate with previous shift driver and relief driver. Proper and thorough turn-over.

Know the Beaumont yard layout.

Know proper marking and identification of pipe.

Return tools to proper places at the end of each shift.

Perform preoperational checks on forklifts and report all service concerns.

Know and adhere to proper moving and handling procedures of XL Systems products.

Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the grounds through regular inspection and maintenance.

Ensure company equipment and material is maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.

Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on equipment and machinery

Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation as required

Read gauges, dials, and other indicators, adjusting them is necessary.

Troubleshoot heavy equipment; ability to detect and fix operating problems.

Ability to lead a team in the absence of Material Control Manager.

Perform all tasks and duties in harmony with other employees to create and maintain a safe working environment.

Ensure compliance of the company's QHSE policies, and corporate code and overall company's objectives

Other duties as defined by Facility Material Manager
