The IR/Special Procedures Tech is a vital member of the radiology team, providing specialized support during interventional and special imaging procedures. This role requires technical expertise and the ability to function effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment. Responsibilities:
- Prepare and operate advanced imaging equipment, including Philips IR tables, ensuring optimal functionality.
- Assist physicians during procedures such as Y90, prostate embolism, tunneled catheter placement, thoracentesis, and paracentesis.
- Monitor patient status and ensure their safety throughout procedures, adhering to safety protocols.
- Document all procedures accurately within the Meditech system.
- Maintain sterile environments and manage inventory of supplies and equipment.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure smooth workflow and high-quality patient care.
- Current BLS certification.
- ARRT certification in Radiologic Technology.
- ACLS certification required.
- Proven experience in interventional radiology or special procedures.
- Strong knowledge of procedural protocols and patient care standards.
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
