Job Title

Registered Nurse – PACU (36-Hour Rotating)

Location

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Onsite | 3x 12-hour rotating shifts (36 hours per week) | Varied start times (days and evenings) | Up to 3 on-call shifts per 6-week schedule

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia nursing care to patients recovering from surgical or procedural interventions
• Monitor and assess patient vital signs, airway status, and level of consciousness in the immediate post-operative period
• Administer medications and interventions as ordered, including pain management and reversal agents
• Communicate patient status and hand-off information to receiving care teams in a clear and timely manner
• Respond to patient emergencies and changes in condition with appropriate clinical interventions
• Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient assessments and care provided

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts or compact licensure eligibility
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Prior clinical experience in a PACU or post-anesthesia care setting
• Ability to work rotating shifts including days and evenings
• Availability to fulfill on-call shift requirements as scheduled

Preferred Experience / Skills

• CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse) certification
• Experience with a high-volume surgical environment
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) documentation systems
