Be the person who helps us finish the day strong!

Since 1981, Solano Baking Company has been Baking the World a Little Sweeter. We're a family-owned bakery built on kindness, respect, teamwork, and taking pride in what we do. We're looking for a responsible, organized, and hands-on Weekend Closing Shift Lead to help lead our team through the end of the day. This role is ideal for someone who takes ownership, works efficiently, and understands that a successful closing is about more than just finishing a checklist.

We need someone who can keep the team focused, ensure closing tasks are completed thoroughly, and leave the bakery clean, organized, and ready for the next morning.

What You'll Be Responsible For

• Leading the closing shift and helping the team prioritize tasks while continuing to serve customers.
• Ensuring closing checklists are completed accurately and on time.
• Overseeing cleaning, sanitizing, stocking, and organizing work areas according to company procedures.
• Supporting coworkers and stepping in wherever needed to keep the shift running smoothly.
• Providing friendly, attentive customer service until the end of the day.
• Communicating important updates, unfinished tasks, and operational concerns to management.
• Taking responsibility for the overall condition of the bakery before leaving.
• Leading by example through a strong work ethic, respectful communication, and a productive pace.

Who We're Looking For

• Reliable and accountable: You follow through on responsibilities and understand that your team depends on you.
• Efficient and self-motivated: You stay productive without needing constant reminders and know how to prioritize.
• A hands-on leader: You're willing to work alongside the team rather than simply tell others what to do.
• Detail-oriented: You understand that a job isn't finished until the details are taken care of.
• Calm under pressure: You can manage competing priorities while keeping a positive attitude.
• A strong communicator: You give clear directions, treat coworkers respectfully, and communicate problems promptly.
• Available on weekends: Saturday and Sunday availability is essential for this position.

What We Offer

• Starting pay of $17.00 per hour, plus tips. Tips typically add approximately 5–6 per hour; actual tips vary.
• An estimated average total wage of approximately $22.50 per hour , including tips.
• Part-time opportunities, with full-time opportunities potentially available.
• Daytime business hours, with no late-night shifts.
• A family-owned workplace that values kindness, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Schedule: Thursday - Monday 8a.m. - 4p.m. Weekend availability is required. Our store hours are 5:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., and shifts may extend until 4:00 p.m. Exact weekend shift times and responsibilities will be discussed during the hiring process.
