Picture a dense grid of automated vehicles shuttling products with precision. Throughput is high—until a sensor drifts, an adapter misaligns, or a lift needs calibration. You step in. With schematics, wiring diagrams, and test instruments in hand, you isolate the fault, adjust the PLC-controlled subsystem, restore flow across manual inbound, automatic inbound, and automatic outbound, and log every detail in the CMMS. Your mission

• Own the health of Symbotic’s automated adapters, vertical lifts, and fleet of automated robotic vehicles.
• Become the subject-matter expert across mechanical, PLC, electrical, and electronic subsystems.
• Execute inspections for AS/RS equipment and document results thoroughly.
• Calibrate, repair, replace, and modify components to sustain continuous operation and peak cases-per-hour.
• Troubleshoot anomalies and stoppages using schematics, wiring diagrams, and advanced diagnostic equipment.
• Conduct periodic inspections within expected durations; capture parts, labor, and actions in the CMMS.
• Communicate production impacts, recommended actions, and time estimates for corrective and emergency maintenance.
• Recover automated robotic vehicles in the Symbotic Matrix select system, including in restrictive environments.
• Perform utility tasks: machining holes, creating brackets, cutting steel, aligning sensors, and attaching Unistrut.
• Set up, calibrate, and complete tool changes on robotic arms.
• Maintain 5S and keep work areas clean; support Cell Operator work when needed.
• Take on other responsibilities as assigned by leadership.

What you bring

• Associate degree/certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing, or equivalent practical experience (preferred).
• At least 3 years working with mechanical automation systems or equivalent education/training.
• Advanced troubleshooting strength and fluency with electro‑mechanical drawings.
• Proven ability to operate automated systems; PLC knowledge and troubleshooting.
• Competence in inspection processes and independent work via procedures and manuals.

Physical and environmental reality check

• Expect steep stair climbs and proximity to high railings.
• Work indoors with weather protection but without full temperature control (approx. 32&degree;F to 105&degree;F).
• Construction phases require PPE: hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eye/ear protection, and fall protection (e.g., safety harness).
• Frequently lift up to 50 lbs and move up to 80 lbs.
• Stand/walk 10–12 hours; frequent reaching with hands/arms.
• Operate at heights up to 45 feet and within restrictive spaces down to 24 inches; ability to stand, climb/balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Capable of feeling, seeing, hearing, bending, twisting, stooping, pushing, pulling, balancing, gripping, climbing, crawling, sitting, handling objects, and repetitive movements with both hands and feet.
• Strict adherence to all safety requirements and protocols, including Lockout/Tagout and fall protection.
