About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required. License: Must possess a valid nursing license prior to the start date. Certifications: Required certifications include ACLS and BLS. Must-Have: Previous charge experience is a strong plus. Travel experience is required. Description: Preceptor experience is a significant advantage. Patient ratio is 1:4. First-time travelers accepted with limitations. Weekends are required. Float within the scope to meet facility needs is necessary. Candidates should be open to discussing block scheduling. Travelers will float within the hospital or to nearby facilities as required. Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. A minimum of 18 months of experience is required. The unit provides interdisciplinary support that includes physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, and pharmacy. Special procedures in this unit involve the titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips. Candidates must be proficient in various skills, including managing chest tubes, feeding tube care, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and IV management. This position is for adults and geriatric patients requiring progressive care. The daily census for the unit is 16 patients. Candidates must have the ability to work with a range of medical diagnoses requiring mid-level care. All travelers are required to float within the hospital or to affiliated hospitals nearby. Please be aware of internal policies regarding travel positions.
