Registered Nurse - Telemetry

VHS is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse with at least 2 years of recent experience in acute care to join our Telemetry unit. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a brand new Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit in a growing facility that offers numerous educational opportunities. The preferred candidate will be experienced in managing a variety of patient conditions including sepsis, cellulitis, DVT/PE, CHF, COPD, COVID, PNA, as well as post-operative cases such as total joints and GI/abdominal surgeries.

Responsibilities:

• Cover general Med/Surg and telemetry patient care with RN patient ratios of 1:5-6 during nights
• Support CNA staff, typically 2 per shift
• Pass an EKG competency exam prior to arrival
• Perform wound management, JP drains, wound vacs, Hemodialysis catheter care, fistulas, PCA, pain management
• Float to various units as needed, with orientation provided
• Follow hospital policies for charting using Meditech Expanse EMR, medication dispensing via Pyxis, and utilization of IV equipment like Alaris pumps
• Work a 4-day week one week and 3-day week the next, with every other weekend rotation
• Be available to work 2-3 holidays per year
• No on-call duties required

Qualifications:

• BLS and ACLS certifications
• NIHSS certification preferred
• At least 2 years of acute care RN experience
• Ability to pass an EKG competency exam
• Strong wound care and patient management skills

Schedule:

• Start Date: 03/09/2026
• Must work every other weekend
• Shift scheduling includes 4 days one week and 3 days the next, with weekend rotation
• Holiday work required
