Litigation Paralegal

Litigation Paralegal Richmond, VA Sands Anderson is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, technology savvy Litigation Paralegal to join our downtown Richmond office. This position provides substantive support to attorneys through all phases of litigation. The ideal candidate has fully developed litigation skills and the proven ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment while delivering exceptional client service. Key Duties and Responsibilities Draft, proofread, edit, and cite-check discovery, pleadings, motions, orders, exhibits, and appellate filings Manage e-discovery and support all phases of litigation, including trial preparation (depositions, mediation, exhibits, briefs, indexes, appendices witness list preparation, jury research) and post-trial procedures Electronically file documents with state agencies and municipal, state, and federal courts Conduct legal research using internal and external databases and summarize findings for attorneys Analyze and monitor case law, legal policies, and legal trends impacting clients Organize and maintain electronic and paper case files using the firm’s document management systems Communicate with clients, consultants, experts, opposing counsel, and third parties at the direction of attorneys Maintain familiarity with court rules, administrative agency procedures, and filing requirements Perform administrative and case management tasks Skills and Qualifications Fully developed litigation skills Advanced written and verbal communication skills Strong ethical standards and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality Working knowledge of e-discovery platforms and litigation technology Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams preferred) Advanced PDF skills, including Bates labeling, combining/splitting, optimization, and file management Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies including AI Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex legal information Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment Ability to manage multiple tasks and shifting priorities effectively Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree 36 years of experience in a litigation environment Experience with state administrative law and agencies Experience with electronic document management systems (e.g., NetDocuments, iManage, SharePoint) Experience with online legal research tools (e.g., Westlaw, Lexis, PACER) E‑filing experience required Additional Requirements Excellent client service skills Ability to work a standard schedule of 8:30 a.m. 5:30 p.m. Strong professionalism, reliability, adaptability and interpersonal skills Ability to travel and work overtime as business needs dictate Sands Anderson PC is an equal opportunity employer.
