Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN General)

This position involves administering nursing care within the scope of practice as defined by the Ohio Revised Code. You will work under the direction of a registered nurse, physician, dentist, podiatrist, optometrist, or chiropractor. Responsibilities include administering oxygen, applying sterile dressings, inserting catheters, reinserting gastrotomy tubes, suctioning, and irrigating wounds. You will assist in administering medications, including controlled substances, and document patient conditions, reactions, and treatment responses. Tasks include taking patient vital signs, assisting with personal grooming and hygiene, and responding to patient alarms. You will assist in making medical appointments and provide one-on-one or group activities as outlined in treatment plans. Responsibilities involve cleaning and restocking medical supplies, as well as performing clerical tasks like answering phones and filing. You will provide direction and training to lower-level staff in general unskilled nursing care. Attendance at various staff meetings and training programs is expected. Knowledge of skilled nursing procedures, pharmacology, and first-aid is essential. Skills in operating medical equipment and using computers are necessary. You must be able to understand practical fields of study and work with concrete variables.
