Job Summary: The Warehouse Supervisor serves as a leader and provides guidance for all warehouse labor duties. Responsible for directing daily activities of the warehouse including labor, scheduling, and supervision of day-to-day operations. Oversees and provides training to warehouse associates following Metropolitan’s set standards and quality guidelines for loading, unloading, packaging and scan discipline. Oversees inventory levels, monitors the safety of goods, and ensures the efficient usage of warehouse space. Assigns tasks and aids Warehouse Manager with all shipping and receiving responsibilities. Assists and provides guidance for different warehouse duties as needed. Required qualifications Experience in a 3PL, distribution, fulfillment, or high-volume warehouse environment. Strong knowledge of receiving, put-away, replenishment, picking, packing, shipping, and inventory control. Experience supervising warehouse associates, assigning work, monitoring productivity, and providing coaching. Familiarity with warehouse management systems, barcode scanners, RF devices, and basic Microsoft Excel. Ability to investigate inventory discrepancies, mis-picks, packing errors, damages, and shipping issues. Understanding of warehouse safety procedures, OSHA requirements, and incident reporting. Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends, overtime, or multiple shifts when required. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift the weight required for the position. Manage multiple customer accounts and changing priorities. Follow customer-specific SOPs and shipping requirements. Monitor service-level agreements, order deadlines, and accuracy expectations. Communicate professionally with customers, carriers, drivers, and internal departments. Track productivity, order accuracy, inventory accuracy, damages, and on-time shipping. Handle urgent orders, staffing shortages, and operational problems. Clear communication and accountability. Effective coaching and conflict-resolution skills. Strong organization and time management. Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy. Ability to improve processes and reduce errors. Fair and consistent treatment of employees. Equipment and safety Sit-down and stand-up forklifts. Order pickers, pallet jacks, dollies, hand trucks, and furniture carts. Clamp trucks, if used in the facility. OSHA safety practices and powered industrial truck requirements. Safe lifting techniques and team-lifting procedures for oversized products. Incident reporting, dock safety, trailer inspections, and housekeeping standards. Shipping and receiving accuracy. Product-damage rates. On-time order staging. Loading and unloading productivity. Employee attendance and performance. Physical Requirements: Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly and occasionally lift and carry up to 100 pounds with assistance Standing and Walking: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday Pushing and Pulling: Ability to push and pull wheeled carts or pallet jacks loaded with merchandise Bending, Stooping, and Reaching: Ability to bend, stoop, and reach overhead frequently Physical Stamina: Demonstrate physical stamina and endurance to perform repetitive tasks in a fast-paced environment Manual Dexterity: Ability to handle and manipulate small parts or delicate items with precision Flexibility to work extended hours or weekends when necessary to address urgentoperational needs Job Type: Full-time Metropolitan Warehouse is an equal opportunity employer.
